Kachikally Crocodile Pool
A hundred years ago, the people of Bakau made a pact with the crocodiles. Since then they've been fed and stayed put. Now you walk among them freely — you can touch them, sometimes tap them on the head. Some are so tame that children sit on their backs for photos. It's unreal, but it's real. The crocodiles are Nile crocodiles — adult specimens measuring 3 to 5 meters. They mostly lie around lounging. No need to be afraid, but don't be foolish either. Guides are available but not required.
